Seven Outstanding Speakers
WILLIAM SPEAR: Feng Shui in the Ancient and Modern World: Reflections on the Timeless Cosmology of Wind – Water
With its origins in the Book of Change, feng shui emerged from a greatly different context and perspective than the one in which we live today. What are the implications of focusing on parts of the holistic philosophy behind this vast body of knowledge to symptomatically approach challenges in order to restore a temporary balance? Eager to be seen and acknowledged, has today’s feng shui community omitted vital components of this sacred art and science to make things “easy”, allowing clever marketing and simplistic cures to replace deep study thereby marginalizing an otherwise precious tool that brings health and harmony to our lives? These observations and others could make a significant difference for both new and old students of feng shui in the years ahead. Come, explore, reflect and contribute.
William Spear is an internationally recognised educator, consultant and author, whose expertise includes feng shui and personal transformation. For four decades his warmth, humor, insight and wealth of experience have made him an informative popular educator as well as an engaging speaker. His book Feng Shui Made Easy, first published in 1995, has been translated into thirteen languages and he is founder and president of the non-profit Fortunate Blessings Foundation in the USA.
MICHAEL OON: Winds of Change
In Chinese philosophy, feng shui is the study of time and space. The main components of the time dimension are the cycles of day, month, year, 20 and 180 years and feng shui identifies the characteristics of each cycle. The 20 year period 1984-2004 related to the rise of woman and financial services. The current cycle 2004-2024 is about young men, passionate entrepeneurs and growth of productive industries. Michael will illustrate how social-economic change reflects these cycles.
Dr Michael Oon is a feng shui consultant specialising in major commercial property development projects ranging from buildings to the design of cities. For the past ten years he has been working with an international feng shui team in Europe, USA, Middle East and Asia. His book “Creating Competitive Advantage using Traditional Feng Shui” covers this work. He was previously a forensic scientist with London Metropolitan Police.
DAVINA MACKAIL: Feng Shui for Buying and Selling Properties
Buying a home is one of the biggest and probably most stressful decisions we make in life. If we get it “wrong” the consequences can be disastrous. What can feng shui teach us about how to choose the right home and how to make it ours. When we come to move on how can feng shui help us maximise our investment and pass on our good fortune to those that come after us. This talk will offer practical, pragmatic solutions that every potential home-owner will want to know.
Davina MacKail discovered feng shui when working in Hong Kong and China in the early 1990s. Besides running a busy practice, she teaches advanced feng shui for Channel 5’s House doctor Anne Maurice and is a” healthy home” expert for a number of independent companies. She is author of The Dream Whisperer book and CD published by Hay House.
KB LIM: Power and Myths of the I-Ching (Book of Change)
The I-Ching, is an amazing book that helps you understand and connect with the universe. There are basic symbols and patterns and other fundamental information to note before reading the I-Ching. Without them, the book will be alien to anyone trying to use it. But so many people do not know how or where to begin. Come and discover guidelines to reading the I-Ching, the wonderful knowledge that can be gained from it, and an entirely different, new perspective of looking at the world!
KB Lim is from Singapore, a disciple of Chinese I-Ching Grand Master Huang Jian. He grew up in a fusion of western and Chinese culture, having the advantage of both a deep, rich ancient wisdom and a scientific western approach. He is a researcher investigating the overlooked fundamental science behind Chinese metaphysics, feng shui, philosophy and culture to clarify the myths so often misunderstood by the public and wanting to share this knowledge with everyone interested in it.

NEIL KINGHAM: The Tao of Food

Neil Kingham will introduce you to the five elements and yin and yang qualities of food and will show you how to immediately apply those principles to your own diet to restore balance and harmony. Discover how the energetics of food affect your internal environment and provide opportunities for optimizing good health and well-being.

HOWARD CHOY: Let there be Sheng Qi – Feng Shui in old China
In October 2012 Howard Choy took a group of students on a Feng Shui study tour of China. They visited over twenty historical sites, including ancient towns, traditional villages, temples, a UNESCO listed grotto and a 1500 years old wooden pagoda that has survived numerous earthquakes. A great deal was learned about how feng shui was applied in traditional buildings. Several of these ancient sites and modern projects will be presented to demonstrate how feng shui has sustained the test of time and works just as well in the present as it did in the past.
Howard Choy (Cai Hong) is China-trained in classical feng shui (Master Ren Zhi-Lin and Prof. Wang Yu-De) and a practicing feng shui architect (B.Arch.UNSW), now based in Berlin. Howard is principal of the European College of Feng Shui and, being proud of his cultural heritage, he is motivated to teach and practice classical feng shui to ensure this living tradition from his birthplace can continue to survive and prosper globally.
KAREN KINGSTON: The Art of Owning Space (sorry no video of this presentation – the speaker didn’t wish to be filmed)
There is a world of difference between living in a place you call home and truly energetically owning its space. Knowing how to land yourself in a space and make it your own, temporarily or permanently, is an essential life skill, incorporating deep levels of feng shui, space clearing and clutter clearing know-how – and something more. In this talk, Karen Kingston will explain the principles of energetically owning space, and the many benefits that mastering this art can bring.
Karen Kingston has pioneered the development of space clearing since 1978 and is recognized as the leading authority in this field. Her two international bestsellers, Clear Your Clutter with Feng Shui and Creating Sacred Space with Feng Shui, have influenced a whole generation’s attitude towards clutter and the energy of spaces. Her teaching style is a unique blend of spiritual insights and practical information, delivered with lively humour.

Two Outstanding Half-day Workshops
Morning 10am – 1pm
HOWARD CHOY: Make your Flying Stars Really Fly
Having learnt the basics of Flying Stars, many have trouble dealing with a changing period or a changing yearly star in their charts. In just 3 hours this workshop will show you how to look at the influence of the current Period 8 on a building built in an earlier period and also how to carry out the two different ways of assessing the influence of a yearly star, one written by Master Shen Zhu-Nai (Shen Shui Xuan Kong Xue) and another passed down by Master Luo Shi-Peng from the Jiang Zhong-Shen lineage.
Please feel free to bring in your own work samples for us to look at and we can use them as practical case studies after learning the theories ( we can only accept one or two examples, so please register early). This is a rare opportunity for you to learn something not being widely taught elsewhere. Some basic knowledge of Flying Stars is required to reap the benefits of this short course.
Howard Choy (Cai Hong) is China-trained in classical feng shui (Master Ren Zhi-Lin and Prof. Wang Yu-De) and a practicing feng shui architect (B.Arch.UNSW), now based in Berlin. WILLIAM SPEAR: Creating Environments That Reduce Stress and Attract Good Fortune
The study of feng shui reveals the connection between the inner and outer worlds. The more we open ourselves to the workings of our higher self, the more consciously present we become. Practicing feng shui effectively requires more than applying learned data; it means being a clear, relaxed receiver and channel of energy, in whom “being” is more important than “knowing” or “doing.”
To make this possible, we must make reducing stress a primary goal in our personal self-development. This engaging, interactive workshop examines the process of self-development at various levels as they relate to our homes and our surroundings. Rather than focusing on floor plans, furniture placement or feng shui “cures”, participants will reveal how changing their inner world results in creating spaces that attract good fortune.
