Right Action, Right Place, Right Time The Chinese Art of Date Selection FREE Webinar with Richard Ashworth 31 May 2022 7-8 pm Zoom
We are delighted to announce the Society’s second webinar event where we invite eminent teachers to share great content for our ongoing learning and community development. Richard Ashworth has been a long time member of the Society and we are thrilled to present a free webinar with him on 31st May. This session will act as an introduction to two online events that Richard will be leading in June so it will be useful information in its now right as well as providing an opportunity to see what further study you can do with Richard.
I look forward to seeing you on the 31st with Richard

Some Masters define feng shui as doing the right thing in the right place at the right time.
In practice however auspicious timing can often be an afterthought. And the fact is that whether a meeting, a journey or placing Water, perfect timing can be the difference between success and failure. Interestingly some very prominent people globally have been using these methods for some quite high profile events recently. How many of us have considered the Beijing Olympics (08:02 08 08 2008) or the assault on the US Capitol in Washington in 2021 (12:59 06 01 2021) in this light?
In this brief webinar I will introduce the basic components of ze ri:
1. The Stems and Branches: the established relationships between the Animals (i.e. Pillars) of Day, Month and Year are what concern us here. Tiger Day in Monkey Month (often a sweaty day in August) is proverbially subject to road rage for instance. Even more so in this Tiger Year. Watch out!
2. The Twelve Officers: these cyclical characters indicate the appropriate use of a day. On a Balance day as an example, justice is said to be done. No day to back the favourite. An Open Day on the other hand offers a tight window of opportunity.
3. The Mansions of the Moon: the Mansions are groups of Stars locating the Moon’s position on its journey around the Earth. For daily use, each is assigned a day in a 28-day cycle. Each suggests whether a day is useful or not and types of likely outcome. A day ruled by Maiden for instance is apt to be solitary, recalling the separation of the Maiden from the Ox Boy as immortalised in the legend illustrated on Willow Pattern china.
4. Personalisation: we will touch on how to suit a date to an event, a person and even a house while introducing a gentle toe-in-the water to the Xuan Kong Da Gua system of doing just that.
This webinar is a taster for a one-day Workshop (June 25th /European Time Zones/repeated 26th Other Time Zones) where we will examine each Pillar, Officer and Mansion and learn to plot, calculate and interpret them. This will be followed by an Advanced Workshop early next year when we will go deeper into Xuan Kong Da Gua and touch on learning to draft a Qi Men Dun Jia chart – which may release many from expensive software.
Some familiarity with the Gan Zi Cycle of Stems and Branches needed but no other Chinese or esoteric knowledge at this stage. More info: www.imperialfengshui.info
