Welcome to the Feng Shui Society website. We hope you will enjoy browsing through its pages to discover more about the fascinating subject of feng shui, the Society, its accredfited consultants, training and events.
The Feng Shui Society is the professional registration body for feng shui consultants and teachers throughout the UK and Europe. All its accredited consultants have accomplished extensive training and are expected to abide by the Society's code of ethics. Furthermore the Society provides an ongoing skills development programme for its consultants to encourage the highest calibre of practice.
The Feng Shui Society was formed in 1993 as a non-profit association run voluntarily by an elected chair and executive. It promotes feng shui internationally through its expert practitioners and it provides a resource of information and advice for anyone interested in feng shui. Its aspiration is to assist the creation of supportive environments by advancing professional feng shui practice, enabling the public to feel confident of accessing the highest standards and quality of professional feng shui consultations.
What is Feng Shui
Feng shui is the study and analysis of the interaction between people, buildings and the environment, intended to enhance our quality of life. In practice Feng Shui considers how the built and natural environment are influencing the lives and wellbeing of people spending time there.
Feng shui originated in ancient China and its basis is chi, which is a vital natural energy present in everything. Today feng shui takes into consideration the influences of building forms and design, external and interior features, furniture, imagery, natural local earth energies and the locations people place themselves within a building at any given time.
How Feng Shui Helps You
Feng shui experts recognise that the atmosphere, or chi, of a building and its close surroundings have an influence upon our life patterns and outcomes.
A feng shui consultant assesses these influences at any given time, then gives recommendations intended to help create a supportive environment in which people will succeed and flourish in their home or work space.
The feng shui consultant will also be able to advise you on colours, plants, art, mirrors, lighting, water features and furniture layout. As well as consulting for homes, some feng shui practitioners are able to undertake garden feng shui and corporate consulting. In addition some feng shui consultants will also look at the effects of electronic equipment and mobile phones.
